Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers enjoy their key fob's convenient remote features. They can lock and unlock their vehicle or start the motor and even locate it with an app on their smartphone.

First, put the fob on an even surface, with the logo facing upwards. Find the button that releases it, wedge an object between the fob and the cover, and pull up carefully.

Unlocking the Doors

Volvo's remote keyfobs let you unlock your vehicle's tailgate, doors and fuel filler flap with the press of a button. The remote key fobs can also switch on the ignition and set off the alarm. They can even operate the sunroof, when it's equipped. It's no longer necessary to search for your keys or be locked out of your vehicle.

Place your key fob on the table with the Volvo logo in the front to unlock or lock the manual lock. Locate the black button that is situated near the edge of the key fob's body, and gently press it to unlock a cover that hides a manual key blade. You will need a flathead screwdriver or coin to flip the cover counterclockwise, ensuring that the arrow is aligned with "open."

Start the Engine
