The Center assists entrepreneurs from the local area with help in the creation or expansion of their businesses by offering services like free workshops on business planning and one-on-one sessions with expert Business Advisors, and access to funding opportunities.

    State leaders in Indiana are pushing employers to offer better wages and benefits as a way of keeping child care workers working across the nation as they face a shortage of employment. This follows the closure of a care center in Bronzeville where it was difficult to retain employees.



    Illinois Department of Labor also introduced an online tool to provide small-sized businesses with information on lawful employment practices. Employers are able to search using keywords or browse categories on this website; and connect to state agencies and other resources.
