Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't make the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.
